Introduction: Hyperosmolar hyperglycaemic state (HHS) is an acute complication of diabetes which requires prompt recognition to prevent morbidity and death. Owing to its low prevalence, clinicians report a lack of confidence in management, which may result in delayed diagnosis and worsened outcomes.
